Preparing to assemble our first set of Butterfly Queen wings. The wing fabric is being fitted over thin fiberglass rods, making them flexible, durable, and extremely lightweight.
Our first ‘real’ set of wings for Dreams of the Last Butterflies have flown in! The photo shows just one of the 8 panels, all of them photo-realistic - and when assembled, the wearable, moving wings will have a 9-ft wingspan! This set of wings will be worn by our Monarch Queen, Kayla Jo.
Wings designed and built by Randy Carfagno and James Vogel.

A behind-the-scenes action shot from our recent 3D test shoot for Dreams of the Last Butterflies. We filmed a short test sequence in 3D with Flambeaux and Kai Altair at Attic Studios in NYC. The footage looks amazing, and will be included in our upcoming promotional video! Special thanks to Peter Clark for the use of his studio.
The final design for our Large Blue Butterfly Queen’s outfit, custom made by Wheylan Dean-Ford. This Butterfly Queen will be played by the amazing hoops/flow arts/fire performer Madeleine Belle.

The Malabar Tree Nymph (Idea malabarica) is a large butterfly found in south-western India in forest clearings and above the forest canopy. They are unusually hard to spot since they typically prefer the tree-tops.
They are listed as “Near Threatened” on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
